Hi folks, first post on this great forum.
I'm currently re-doing our en-suite shower as it was leaking through to downstairs (failed grout)
As you can see the tiles have been removed, I know I need to deal with the mould.
My question is, before I retile do I need to remove the skim of plaster that is currently on the plasterboard? As you can see I have lost some already when removing the tiles and in other places it is very thin.
I am worried that it is not strong enough to hold the tiles.
I plan to tank the wall with Ardex before tiling.
I'm a complete novice so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Tiling/Plaster advice needed
My best guess looking at that is that the plasterboard needs to come off..it has possibly absorbed enough water to debstabilise it.
I would replace with Aqua panel (Cement based sheet, re-inforced with glass) then tile straight onto that. (No need for tanking.)

Re: Tiling/Plaster advice needed
Thanks Wine-o
I guess at least I won't have to wait for drying out.
