Metal Adhesive

Post by steve28 »

I've got a small job where a need to glue some metal (possibly steel?!!) it's basically the bracket for my car wingmirror which let's it fold in and out has snapped. Can anyone recommend a good metal adhesive for a diy fix. Strong as possible

It depends on the load being applied to the joint to be made. Large flat surfaces will join easily; small surfaces under large bending forces will be a b*gger - most likely impossible with adhesive. Post a pic of the area to be joined and we can offer more accurate advice.

Sometimes the only way to repair it is to replace it.
Don't take it personally......

:withstupid: If you can use a similar material as a backing or better a sandwich the joint will be much stronger.
