Diamond Tile Cutter suggestions
Hi everyone,
I've recently re-developed a property that was in a right old state, I managed to tile both bathrooms and kitchen myself (not perfect but pretty good towards the end), the Ultimate Handy Man YouTube channel helped A LOT!
I just got a cheap electric tile cutter from Topps Tiles for about £40/50...
I'm re-doing my own bathroom this weekend - Underfloor heating under floor tiles then tiling 90% of the walls. After this I will tile the downstairs hallway, then after that we will be doing the kitchen floor and splash backs, so I'm after a fairly robust tile cutter, I would quite like one that has a deep water troth so you don't have to top up every few tiles, and ideally one that's quick and easy to change tile size guide. I'm happy to pay up to about £150 (or more if really needed), I'm going to continue in property development so would really like something that will last.
Any help would be very gratefully received.
Cheers

At any given time there can be 600 guests on-line, they are able to view your post but not reply.
The people who are best qualified to reply are probably working and will be back later.
Patience.

Another site you may find useful, DTW ceramics is a member on here, so I'm sure you may be able to negotiate a small discount if you mention "Ultimate Handyman"

Thanks mate but I was after an electric one, he only seems to do Manuel ones, he obviously rates Rubi though!wine~o wrote:

I wouldn't bother with the rubi basic line (bl) cutters, they are pants and underpowered. The vitrex pro 750 is what I would go for if I was you

Re: Diamond Tile Cutter suggestions
Rubi in your price range are 5hite.
Buy a decent manual cutter such as Rubi or Sigma and also a 4.5inch angle grinder. There are not many times an electric cutter are needed unless you are doing stone.

Re: Diamond Tile Cutter suggestions
Hmmm, maybe I should try a manual cutter again then, the cheap one I used was rubbish so have just used a diamond cutter since.
Cheers guys.

Re: Diamond Tile Cutter suggestions
I've got both a Sigma manual cutter and a Vitrex Pro 750 wet cutter. Once you've used a decent manual cutter, there's very little need for a wet cutter (except for L shape cuts etc)

Re: Diamond Tile Cutter suggestions
Manuals can be slightly tricky to get the hang of but once you get the hang of them they will save you loads of time. only score heavy enough to score the glaze, thumb and 1 finger should be enough on most tiles and play about with the breaker until you find something that works for you. big clinker manuals are decent enough and also genesis cutters that take the rubi cutting wheels. a cheap 4" grinder and a tile cutting blade are more useful than wet cutters in most situations though. Wet cutter for show, grinder for dough!!

Re: Diamond Tile Cutter suggestions
Grinders are fine if you can deal with the dust, when working in a customer house it's not always practical.
