Seems a shame..........in the bin it goes
Been having a tidy up over the last month, more stuff binned, just binned some MS software, yes it's old, (office 97 for one) looked on ebay its going for 99p, so no point in selling it. Next thing to go will be the TV (See computers)
So my question is, "What have you binned (must be binned) that you think is a waste / shame to bin, but you know / suspect you wouldn't get much for, but its still working / useful"

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Re: Seems a shame..........in the bin it goes
I often throw out outdated tech as nobody wants to buy it. Even freecyclers are picky. Must have this and be this colour etc.... skip is often easiest option. I sold 4 dining chairs on ebay in April and despite numerous emails and a npb open the buyer didn't contact me so I chopped them up and burnt them. A day later the buyer contacted me asking when to collect. I emailed them a picture of the ash asking if they prefered me to post. I never got a reply!

Just skipped two mountain bikes, both in pretty good nick, except tyres were weathered where they had stood in the garage for the last few years, kept telling the boss I would use them again soon, but never got round to it.
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

i tried to give a couple of old mt bikes away tried freed ads free ad in local paper even left them in from drive over night not locked nothing still there after 2 days [i must have a bit of a reputation on my estate of no liking any one in my garden uninvited ]
in the end took them to local shops locked them up with couple of old d locks and stuck them on bike rack
next morning they had had locks cut and nicked
best thing the bike rack is under the estate CCTV

Re: Seems a shame..........in the bin it goes
I had a Volvo 940 Estate - it was in beautiful condition - not a speck of rust or a dent anywhere, but the auto gearbox went on it.
I tried to get rid of it for a month with no luck so it went to the breakers for £45 - I was gutted.
