Screwfix ordering

It’s been a while since I purchased from the screwfix website. I remember the last time I had problems when my collection order (which I needed on the same day) screwfix-website-t66342.html

Today I tried ordering again

Firstly I wanted to order for collection, but one of the items I was after ideal wire connectors were not available until the next day so I chose to have the order delivered and proceeded to fill my basket. Unfortunately I got disturbed and had to leave the computer ( I had enough to get the free delivery but wasn’t checking out in case something else sprung to mind). When I returned to the computer I realised I needed a new evolution blade so I added it to my basket, but all other items had disappeared


On top of this why the hell do they have items in their clearance section that they no longer have?

This is not a recent thing as I checked this about 4 days ago and the items were out of stock then, so why do they keep these items on the clearance page when they don’t have any? It’s not just one item either, there are at least eight items that are on the clearance page- which they don’t have any more

Needless to say that I’ll now source the products elsewhere

they must have it somewhere in the system to advertise an item have you tried another store

The collection box is greyed out Big-All

When they have an item left in a store it is a blue button

I checked the clearance stuff and it was the same - was tempted to get the evolution saw (110 volt) as I could easily get a tranny (Not that Kind Wes....) for it.

Tried just about 20 towns, not one had any in stock. Could be in some obscure place that doesn't have power (wales).

yes thats the point
there only needs to be one in a store somewhere for the box to work but only when you choose the correct store will it work

If there is one in stock in any branch of the country the button is Blue, if there is no stock in any branch of the country the button is greyed out.

For example the picture I posted above there is a blue button, yet when I check all stores near to me they don't have one in stock- which leads me to believe that they grey out the button when they have none instead of removing it from the clearance section.

It reminds me of the guy that goes into the shop and asks how much internal doors are-

Guy "how much are your internal doors"

Shop owner "£50"

Guy " how much! they are only £30 across the road"

Shop owner "Go and buy one there then"


Guy " I can't they don't have any"

Shop owner "we sell them at £30 when we don't have any as well"

You've had a lucky escape there,the evolution gear is simply awfull....I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

I have an evolution circ and I have no problem with it stevie, does what says on the box, cuts nails without issue and without blade damage.....including rather large nails holding floorboards of various ages down.

It's the sliding mitre saw that's on offer at 50 quid,it doesn't cut accurately,the blade is useless for clean cuts and it will fall to bits within months. That's from experience. I got one for cutting up firewood and old pallets etc as not to damage my good mitre saw but alas it was a waste of money. The circular saw is probably ok for a sparky or plumber but the blade again is pretty much useless for cutting timber. The blades have a 25.4mm bore as well which limits you to.....evolution blades only unless you use an adapter which you could probably locate somewhere I'm sure.

I just use mine for cutting floorboards etc, though the old man used it for putting points on 4x4 fence posts and didnt have any complaints about it.
I was lent an older makita once....useless weedy thing, not helped by the crappy blade it was fitted with....

I bought one of these from B&Q, I think it was about £100.

It would not cut squarely from day one and was impossible to adjust as they had pinned it in the wrong position using a spring pin. I contacted their support, but in the end just took it back to B&Q for a refund.
