Plastering a window reveal

Post by Abbo »

Hiya,

I've been asked to do some repair plastering on the upper part of a window reveal, where the plaster has fallen off. Looking at it, it looks like it has been just skimmed in the past, but this varies in thickness from around 3 mm to about 10 mm where they've tried to get it level? The lintel is a smooth stone slab, so not much of a key for the plaster to adhere to!

What would you recommend?? :?

Cheers Chap,

Yeah I did consider plasterboard approach, but it was a case of trying to keep the reveal level, without it turning too bulky was the main problem! But at least by using plasterboard I thought the skim might have something to adhere to!!
