Whenever I have been unlucky enough to lower myself to step inside B and pooh for a door bar, they either never have any decent ones or they are twice the price for a single length than what I pay for a 2.4M length from my supplier.

Shame you missed out on putting extra sockets in. Unless you deem them to be enough, then it doesn't matter.

if you do another laminate floor...............don't lay it in broken bond like that, it looks very DIY (not to be rude). You should be able to stagger back 3 or 4 times instead of doing it that way. This makes the butt joints less obvious.

A last update on this, the worktops and upstands were fitted on Friday and I have fitted the splashback and cooker hood so it is pretty much finished.

One of the lengths of worktop will be replaced later this week as there is a crack around the hob cutout, I know stuff happens and the cutout is a weak point but I wasn’t too impressed when the fitters tried to hide it from me and asked me to sign the job off

The picture gives you an idea of the finished result, the cooker hood hadn't been fitted yet and the protective plastic is still on the doors so there are some odd shadows.

Royaloak, in hindsight we probably should have put some more sockets in, what we have is enough for us but I guess things could change in future. Interesting comment on the floor too

Thats very cool, what an improvement. It does not look like the same room!
I like the way the granite tops just finish everything off. We are contemplating granite with our new kitchen and after seeing this post the extra costs seem worth it.
