CP Plus parking ticket
Took the better half, with a very serious illness, to a hospital appointment yesterday and I couldn't find a parking space.
Went round and round and there was nothing available so I parked at the end of a row of cars, but on the grass verge, absolutely not obstructing anybody.
When we returned there was a parking fine notification on the car for 40 quid, which will be reduced to 20 if I pay within 14 days.
CP plus issued the ticket.
It seems unjust. I can guess that to fight them would be like fighting windmills, so I think the easiest course is to pay the 20 quid and make it go away. I expect this is what the company's business model is based on.
What's advised?
It seems to me that these people are public menaces.

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
Is that a Parking Charge Notification or a PENALTY CHARGE NOTIFICATION? There's a difference in that you can ignore a Parking Charge Notification and they can do f-all to make you pay.

Unless its from the council or police, ignore it as they can't enforce it.

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
This is an - Unauthorised Parking Notice.
So the advise is to file it, do nothing and prepare for an increasingly demanding stream of threatening letters?
What happens at the end of all this?
Is there an end?

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
Their action is typical of the type - empty threats in the hope that you will just pay up to get them to stop pestering you.
You can bring it to an end by writing to them and include an INVOICE for your time and trouble in responding to their fraudulent messages.
Make your invoice out to exceed the sum demanded by them and include the phrase "if you do not repsond to this correspondence within 7 working days I shall consider the matter closed". You won't hear from them again.

If it's not the council or police tell them to Fcuk off. I've had 2 and I've handed them back in person, I never heard nothing back from them. £20 is better in your pocket than theirs.

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
Just to add, unless they have access to the DVLA database then won't even be able to write to you to attempt to enforce their "Fine"

Much as I hate traffic wardens and parking bods I have to ask:
Did the grass look like a parking space?

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
Interesting thought Razor, but if you are on the grass then you can't get a parking ticket for illegally parking on the road.Razor wrote:Much as I hate traffic wardens and parking bods I have to ask:

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
I thought the ticket would be for parking outside the designated bays
All hospitals seem to have really inadequate parking from what I've seen and judging by the hordes of people driving round and round trying to find a space but I'd have to say that I'd expect a ticket for parking where you're clearly not supposed too.

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
Our local "Super Hospital"'s car parking is a bloody joke. The main front car parks, look like they were designed by a blind man's Labrador. A tight turn to approach the machine, where you risk damaging your car to get close enough to press the pathetically small screen to get a ticket to get in, or have to stop so far away you have to get out of the car to press the screen. Car parks in which the attendants regularly cone off 20 parking spaces,,, then forget to program the computer with 20 less spaces. Result?? you get a ticket allowing you into the car park,,, but there ain't no bloody spaces. A year ago I attended the Stroke Clinic, (appointment at 2:30pm) Arrived at the hospital at about 1:50pm, so plenty of time (or so I thought) After being allowed into the car park and finding no spaces, I drove to another car park, to find the exact same situation. Drove back to the first one,,, same again,,,, (repeat and rinse several times) By the time I got the car parked I was 1/4 hr late for the appointment.
The receptionist (bless her) told me I was late for my appointment. I told her "I'm bloody well late,, because that crap piece of landscaping, outside, the architect, jokingly called a car park, is allowing cars in when there's no parking spaces." " I've been driving round for 40 minutes wasting my petrol, my time and the consultant's time."............ "Ahh take a seat Sir,,, I can see we won't be taking your blood pressure today." she replied,,, causing me to burst out laughing, and apologising at the same time.. When the consultant finally called me, the receptionist had obviously told him about my mood when I arrived. He told me..." You only have to come here , once every few months,,, I have to come here every f*****g day and I have to pay to park my bloody car." "If I don't get here before 9:00am, I have the exact same problem."

Re: CP Plus parking ticket
Reason for the fine - Not in a bay.
I was parked at the end of a row of cars that were parked on a paved parking bay. I was on the grass next to the last car. There were tyre marks there from previous 'violators'.
My guess is that the parking attendant is paid according to the number of tickets he gives out so he has an incentive.
I've got more important things to worry about than this - wife collapsed and was hospitalized yesterday.
