Today the string broke on my bathroom light switch pull cord. I've taken the 'rose' off and nothing is broken underneath, its just the string that's worn out.
Can anyone tell me how to re-string the switch?

There's a little acorn shaped thing near the top of the string, above where it's broken. It has two halves that unscrew. Unscrew them and You'll see that the string is knotted inside. Just replace and tie a knot in it to stop it pulling through the hole.

They tend to get brittle from the slight heat from the cable and break right at the top, don;'t they?Rich-Ando wrote:correct if he means below there. the last few i've seen have broken from the switch side
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
