Re: no graft and bad back
I remember slipping and falling straight on my back in the snow once (late eighties) and did summat to my lower back. Used to take me about 20 minutes to walk to work, but for about a fortnight, it took me almost an hour to and from work. Couldn't afford the time off. Doc had gave me a sick note, but I ripped that up as I came out of the doc's surgery. Always seemed to be worse first thing in the morning, but generally eased a bit through the day. Doc did prescribe codeine tablets which did help, but the side effects when combined with alcohol, weren't too good (as I found out the first Saturday night in't pub)

Good news fin, don't over-do it now.fin wrote:backs wayyyy better now. back at graft and all that. went to the gym and got a new programe worked out for me to strengthen up that muscle that i hurt.
I remember you said that his was an upper back/shoulder problem, but stomach muscle exercises are always well worth doing - they help to support the lower back and avoid the very common problems in that area which so often afflict manual workers.
One day it will all be firewood.

Re: no graft and bad back
I used to pay Scottish Power for my gas and electric, (until they f**ked me over one time too many), they used to phone on a regular basis to try and get me to convert back to them - I could never understand a word of their Jockspeak on the phone, after asking them to repeat something for the third or fourth time I just used to put the phone down - it was kinder all round: and I'm no longer allowed to answer the phone - so that's a result too - I hate the damn things.steviejoiner74 wrote: and just as incomprehensible. AJ, not quite a Cockney - but definitely a Laandaner.
