Re: Whats stopping me getting PL Insurance?!
I would personally avoid Zurich and tradeUK, I'm going to cancel my PL policy with them (TradeUK are the broker, Zurich is the insurer) as the policy has so many loopholes and exclusions it makes the policy utterly and totally worthless...plus the excess is stupidly high.....tried to make a claim once and they argued it was "within the work area so was excluded from coverage"

Re: Whats stopping me getting PL Insurance?!
As I've already pointed out, they will take money from a monkey with no qualms. It's when you try to claim. They will try anything in their power to avoid paying.
I've never made a claim, but I consider all insurance policies a SCAM.
I did make a post sometime back about a lady who crashed into my parked van at Plumbase car park. It took the insurers THREE months to get my van repaired. And even then, they still took £300 excess from my good self??? So in a few months, when my policy is up for renewal, they will hit me hard with an excessively high quote, claiming I was involved in an accident and made a claim. I've got a feeling they will try and say responsibility for the accident should be shared 50-50??

Re: Whats stopping me getting PL Insurance?!
Ok, insurance companies, thieves wearing a different hat IMHO.
I had my van broken into a few years back so I claimed for the repairs, come renewal time the question was "any claims in the last twelve months?" Yes was my answer, "fault or non fault ?" Non fault I told them, she then asked for details.
It turns out that if you make a claim and they can't get the money back from someone else it's considered your fault,
Anyway it went against me and my premium rocketed upwards like an exocet missile.
Fortunately I do quite a bit of work for insurance companies so I have recouped my losses (and then some ) but its not right
