Drying out damp caused by pipe leak

Post by spatz »

Hi all

So my mains water supply pipe has leaked (now fully repaired) however there has been the obvious dampness caused by this leak which I need to dry out.

Areas affected are several under floor joists, the supporting walls under the floor and some of the brickwork. The adjoining plaster will obviously need to be hacked off and replaced. But before i start the repair work I need to dry out the affected areas and I'm not sure which kind of dryer to hire?

There seem to be several types.

Can anyone make a suggestion please

Thanks

Any good sized dehumidifier will do the job nicely :thumbright:

Great thanks, I have found a 180ltr pump dehumidifier for hire so I'll go with that.

thanks for the reminder, that would be ironic, if i dried out the damp and caused more damage by not emptying the tank ;-)

i believe they just switch off, you need to keep emptying the tank to make them work
