Green oak porch

Built this a couple of months back at a house I did a large extension and refurb a couple of years back.

Used some nice green oak that a guy I know cuts, all done with mortice, tenons, half laps on the corners then pegged.

Cheated a bit on the roof as I used softwood for the rafters then cut oak rafter feet from some 4x2 that was left of from some of the refurb work, the customer did not want to pay extra for all oak.

Also ripped down some oak board to use as a tilt so the eaves could be left open.

I actually really like that

my two daughters school has a similar pergola that has been constructed with M&T joinery,
looks fantastic, as does this!
