Finally got my phone working, I might of posted the fascia/soffit pic before but that's all I have on my phone. Still working on the same Bellway homes site.
Nope, the houses are timber frame and the timber framers do the whole kit and then the roof, leaving fascia/soffit (dunno why they don't do it themselves!!), 1st fix, 2nd fix, etc, to us (sub-contracted joiners, well I'm an apprentice but still). After the party walls are boarded and the roof is tiled we go in. What stage do your casings go in? assuming they're pre-hung doors because down here (north west UK) those pre-hung door kits, the casings go in 2nd fix with the door. But if it's just casings separate they go in 1st fix. I bet a 1st fix here is a lot different than it is where you Scottish blokes are lol
Lol window boards in 2nd fix, most joiners here would moan because they'd have to be spot on and most of the 1st fix joiners I work with are pretty rough when it comes to them. I like to be as neat as possible, this pic is quite old and plates were used on this site instead of just blocks nailed down, then the board pinned
Didn't do it on a price luckily just got paid a day rate With the soffit, fascia and open eaves detail it took about 3 and a half hours. I don't usually get to do the roofing so I'm not as fast as the others that do garage trusses in about half an hour lol
The bridles(trimmers) should be doubled up top and bottom. You've no truss clips on either but I'm just being picky!.
Do you guys do the flashing kits as well? They are a joy to do for the first time!!
Carpentry,I can explain it to you but I cannot understand it for you.
