Nook HD+

Post by 54aardvark »

Wife's laptop has shuffled its mortal and we're looking for a replacement, quite interested in a tablet instead and quite interested in the 9" Nook HD+ 32Gb. Her main usage is e-mail, Youtube, small gaming and a little typing.

Can't seem to find much info though and wondered if anyone on here can help with a couple of queries/assumptions.

Does it support word-processing, no need for Excel or anything similar?

It has a USB port, I take it that you could plug in a separate keyboard (or wireless dongle)?

Also with the USB, would it hook up to the printer?

The 32Gb has a HDMI socket so could plug into the TV, can't see anywhere whether the 16Gb has one as well.

Any info gratefully received, also any good alternatives although we have an eye on a couple of Nooks at a good price on Ebay

You need to be a little careful with connectivity. The Nooks I've seen don't use a micro usb slot it's nooks own version so usb won't fit. It has a microSD slot for the memory though.

Send it via bluetooth to the printer.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Thanks for your comments, unknown to me she went and got one anyway!

However, well happy with it so far, does pretty much everything she needs it for and, what I've seen of it, its pretty impressive for the price (£129.00).

Just away to sort out bluetooth dongle.
