Damn phones
Went out the other day when it was raining with the missis for a nice coffee. Dropped her off outside the shop and parked down the road.......ran down the road and my phone fell out my pocket and smashed the screen.
It's razor sharp, but still works. Worst part is I can't answer calls because the proximity sensor is smashed, so when I ring it thinks it's against my face and turns screen off - I can't bloody hang up!!!!
No insurance, no contract to renew :(
Ho-hum.

Re: Damn phones
110 for this one - I've asked. The outside bezel is damaged too, which they said would be a 'special order' part.
I've just ordered a new front assembly and digitizer for £70 and I'll do it myself. Had to replace the wife's about 3 months back too.......more cash down the shitter.

S4 mini was easy enough - I have all the tools to do it, but MAN alive is it fiddly!!!!
Mine looks pretty much the same. Look at ifixit (is that right?), they have AWESOME video guides.

This is one of the reasons I love Apple products like the iPad and iPhone. If anything happens like described above, it's a flat rate fee to swap it for a new one.
