Hi All,

Has anyone with one of these had the switch get stuck on yet? Mine's just started doing this, not nice.... The motor carries on running even when your finger is totally off the trigger and the only way to stop it is to take the battery out. Sometimes that'll reset it and it's back to normal, but I put the battery back in yesterday and it carried on running without touching the trigger....

I've had 2 old panasonic drills need a new switch eventually and I wondered if a new switch would fix this?

Thought I'd ask in case anyone has had the same thing happen,

In many cases the switch just needs cleaning, take it out and blast with contact cleaner

Aha, Cheers for that CR, I'll try it. Makita said send it in and they'll sort it free of charge as it's out of warranty but has a problem, but I'd rather keep hold of it and try cleaning it first.

Just an update, I tried unsuccessfully to clean the switch and contacts etc myself and gradually the problem got worse to where it just ran constantly with a battery connected, so it went back to Makita; well out of warranty and they were as good as gold, one week later and it's back repaired, no charge because it was an internal fault not a user fault. Very good service
