More Oak
I have a computer desk to make in American White oak and have been machining the wood today. The customer had also asked for a cutlery insert for another oak unit too. Getting bored I thought I would have a break and make a start on the insert. I got engrossed in it and a couple of hours later I had it done. The base is still loose as it will be covered in baize.

Hi,
Lovely job mailee; how did you cut the finger joints and are you putting a finish on it. Such work is so satisfying to do. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards, Col.

Re: More Oak
I couldn't agree more Col. I find this sort of work relaxing along with making boxes. I made the finger joints on the router table with a jig I made. It doesn't show very well in the photo but there is a wax finish on it already. I shall be adding some green baize to the bottom of it too.
