i may be overthinking this :lol:
logs being logs will they not tend to "lean " on the sides with the greatest push under a large pile
or do they tend to "lock" together with little lean?? :dunno:

Yes Big al, they would but these not use normal logs. I used the term logs but they are actually chunks. My customer gets free wood from his works and they are small square section pieces so will stack with no problem. If it was for normal logs I would have reinforced the sides for the lean as you state.

I did a log store for a mate back along, he finished it off with a proper slate roof and stainless steel gutter/downpipe!
