Install Ccleaner and run the registry cleaner. It may help.

No need Argyll. Re-installed everything now. I was surprised how little time it took though. Only about two hours from start to OS , AV software, graphics drivers, favourite browser, email client (including setting it up manually) and favourite websites bookmarked. Only thing I have to do now is install the driver for my printer/scanner (forgot this earlier)
Only thing now is the seemingly endless Windows updates. (they'll be coming thick and fast over the next few weeks as Windows likes to install these in a set order) Already had one Service Pack install itself. Computer is a lot faster than it used to be.
