Accessing PDF files: Firefox on Vista.
I`m in the poop at the mo.
Bought a cheapo 2nd hand desktop tower earlier this year and it was supposed to have been set up by the shop.Never mind says me,I`ll learn a bit as I go along.
It`s on Vista but cannot access PDF files, just get directed to Widows Media Centre etc.Whatever I go for will not open files.Any ideas please?Only want to print out some courier labels.I even asked the courier company to send copies to my email but they sent Word format which didn`t work. Not their fault, this computer wasn`t fully set up to start with.I use Firefox, could it be to do with a firewall?
Thanks.

I'm not familiar with Vista but have you tried dowloading PDF reader from ADOBE?
http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/otherversions/ choose Windows Vista from the dropbox.

I use "Foxit Reader" a free download but at least it isn't parcelled up with a load of bloatware as you get when downloading Adobe Acrobat.

Adobe should be avoided like the plague, ****ing evil company, rip off prices, double rip off in Europe, triple rip off in the UK, sh*t security, lots of bloat that you can't move out of your OS partition, obnoxious updates that are difficult to turn off, obnoxious auto run 'services' that are difficult to turn off, ****ing adware and hidous DRM slyly dropped into updates, obnoxious collecting and tracking of user data.
Try Sumatra or Foxit

Re: Accessing PDF files: Firefox on Vista.
After installing Foxit, there was a two-day wobble on my email function which I`d never experienced before,it changed format, wouldn`t allow me to click on specific emails, wouldn`t send them etc,but they had a cut cable issue a week ago,so perhaps mine was corrupted from the aftermath?
Able to access PDF files at last and got my courier label printed and no problems noticed otherwise,so very happy
