FLOOR LEVELLER

Hi folks
After a bit of help please
I want to tile my kitchen /diner - problem being the kitcken floor is concrete and level - the diner floor is flooring asphalt and needs leveled where the tow meet
In one place it needs about 10 - 15mm fading to nothing
so when it is complete about half of the diner floor would have leveller on it

Can anyone recomend which floor leveler can be used on top of the ashphalt and concrete ??
and does the ashphalt need any preperation coating etc
all the floor leveller's i can find say " not suitable for use over Ashphalt"

I know it exists as B&Q did have one a while ago but now dont stock it

Arditex NA or f-ball stopgap 1200 pro both with latex bottle. Arditex NA would be better in your instance as it can be applied to a feather finish.

It should be mechanically abraded to remove any contaminants (paint, plaster etc) and to give a key for the slc. Be mindful that abrading bitumen/asphalt will kick up a thick heavy dust and can make a right mess. Wear a respiratory mask and seal off the room to prevent the dust from going all over the house. Keep the room well ventilated. Giving the bitumen a tickle with a basic grinder fitted with a floor grinding disc will do the trick but I'd advise using a dust hud attached to the grinder and attach an extraction unit to the hud (a shop vac with an inline dust collection bucket is the least expensive method for diy and will do the job).

Arditex NA doesn't need a primer but if you'd prefer, you can use Ardex P82 primer.

To prevent suction issues on the concrete, simply soak it with water. Read the Arditex NA data sheet. The concrete may also need mechanically abrading to remove laitance and contaminants. Again, as above in relation to the dust.
