Macallister 18v nailer

Hi I am looking for the user manual for the Macallister 18v Nailer. I have one but I can't figure out how it works.Can anyone please help.

I just dont know how it works. I am assuming that a nail goes into the jaws you put where you want to nail push on it & pull the trigger.

you need the correct pins [nails ] in a strip you will pull out a carriage [look for a button press area around the back at the base]insert the nail strip
close the carriage press on the area and pull the trigger

if it is like the one in the image I have just posted then yeah that is how it works the dial on the side is to set the power and the depth of the nail not sure what the different numbers mean so maybe worth a try out on a scrap bit of wood to see what the numbers equal. I have the nailer in my garage but have to admit I have never used it apart from a quick play about when I bought it. i just had a quick look about and managed to find this link for a manual which you can downlaod as a pdf it is a gmc model but looks the same as the Macallister one we have. I got mine as a car boot ohhhh that looks good bargain big-all from when I was on the farms to help when we did the fencing as couldn't always have a compressor with us. I never used it apart from a couple of test nails in a scrap of wood but seams a good idea if you had hundreds of nails to do over a long run of fencing as long as the batteries lasted

I have downloaded the manual. the nail gun is fully charged. I have loaded a nail but when I pull the trigger nothing happens. It has never been used although I have had it quite a while.!

this may sound stupid but you do have it pressed against something as i think it has a safety trigger that has to be depressed to work

I bought one of these nail guns [which work by a piston compresing air] from .b.y, it never worked either, this despite the seller indicating it would. I didn't pay a lot for it, looks brand new, but it does not work and I could never get it to work, neither could my friend, so it seems it is something else condemned to the tool box never to be used again..

Hmm from my investigations this working action is called 'sequential' not sure this is how this nailgun functions, there is nothing mentioned in the instruction, the nail protrudes the jaws in this nail gun, however I take on board what your indicating and it is certainly not stupid to say so, as just who knows, but for one I cannot get this nail gun to work, no way, no how, and to be frank it looks so new I doubt [until I had it] it had never been out of the box, let alone used.

any nailgun needs a firm surface to fire against or they wont work they all have a pin or other method to ensure the fire point is firmly in contact to release the nail not all guns have bump mode but all have the safety pin

macallister is b&q own brand, perhaps send an email to bnq.

Hmmm, this MacAllister All Strike nail gun ,bet you cannot get this nail gun to work, had it to bits and think I have found the problem, the motor spins, and thats it, so something is wrong between the motor and piston for this is how this particular nailer works, it thumps nails in [and as big as 6 ins nails] or so the manual supplied with it boasts, anyone know of a repair manual, or pdf, got a link if you do please?
