Bed for dolls made from Perspex Sparkle

Post by ultimatehandyman »

The eldest daughter has some Frozen dolls (Elsa and Anna)

Unfortunately they would not fit in the bed that came with her dolls house so I made her a new bed from some 5mm thick pink Perspex Sparkle.

You can't see the sparkle when it's in this position but it looks quite cool when you get it in the correct light.

Thanks, I made a line bending machine a few weeks back using some ni-chrome wire and a bench PSU. I'll be uploading the video of how to make the line bender in the next week or so.

I quite like working with Perspex, so when I get chance I'll be making some more things.

Working perspex is something I want to get into so I'll be interested to see any videos you put up. I have an idea for some perspex-based electronic equipment that would look good so any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi,

You big softy Chez; your daughter will think you are the best dad ever and I bet she is over the moon with it. Very well done and thanks for sharing. :huray:

I seldom use Perspex because it brings tears to my eyes paying for it? :cb

Kind regards, Col.

Well done Chez, top job. Did you just happen to have the sparkly pink perspex in stock? :thumbleft:

No problem at all

I have just made videos on how to make a line bender, how to line bend acrylic, how to glue acrylic and I'm editing the how to make a bed for Elsa and Anna

I'm sure I had some more things to make, which will probably come to mind at some point.

Thanks Col,

I have several bits left over from when I was a Lucite employee as we were allowed to get a chit and take scrap pieces home as long as they were not to be passed on or sold.

Yes, I remember inspecting that batch of pink sparkle and when a scrap sheet came through I got a chit for a piece of it.

I also got some translucent pink sparkle at the same time, but I have not made anything from that yet.

Bed for dolls made from Perspex Sparkle

Post by Retired »

Hi,

Very impressive Chez; how did you finish the edges to get them so smooth?

When I made my large numbers for the bungalow I used a big piece of Perspex and it took ages sanding then buffing the edges to smooth them; however if I had a hot enough torch like an oxy/acetylene welder applying quick heat gives a glass like finish?

I'll look forward to seeing your line bender details.

Kind regards, Col.
