Christmas is cancelled yet again!

Every Christmas we have something go wrong, either we've all got the flu or a friend or relative has a heart attack or dies. There are Videos of our two on Christmas morning where they couldn't care less about opening presents because they're so unwell. Looks like this year is going to be no different.

My youngest had Friday off school because she caught the sickness bug that was going round school. There were so many off that the Nativity service was manned by last minute stand-ins but it went well. The sprog was ill all Saturday and Sunday but I thought that the eldest would be fine. At 2.30 am she started being sick!!

Everything is being bleached within an inch of its life and my husband and I are awaiting to start of the bug. To top it all my uncle had a heart attack yesterday too just to put the top hat on everything.

Does anyone actually get through Christmas intact without illness or problems? I'm beginning to think that we are doomed and that we should postpone it until January!

not good but its life im afraid ,you just have to get on with it dont you ,or just spend all hols in the pub

My kids had the school bug thing ,doing the rounds here in Lincs as well ,luckily it wasnt passed on to Mrs Foggy and i

Hi Foggy,

It's the same every year, so I should be used to it

but it would make a refreshing change for things to go right!

We always get on with it and make the most of it. We always make it as exciting for the girls as possible though, even if they feel poorly. it is their time at the end of the day and they want happy memories to look back on.

At least we have food in the house and no last minute shopping to do.

My youngest has just got up and so far is feeling fine.

My eldest has been up all night and is now snoring merrily on the sofa.

Rest is a good healer, I hope!

My husband has just nodded off on the sofa (up all night keeping daughter number 1 company!) and I've had a couple of hours sleep and have just foiled the turkey and put it in the fridge, thank goodness that is thawed. The giblets are cooking away merrily on the stove, so the dog will get a treat and I'll have stock for the gravy! It'd be nice if the kids went to bed early tonight for a change, they get so excited that Santa is usually not here until past midnight when they're asleep!

Im not feeling particully festive, daughter has a cold, the wife has some sort of 'womans problem' So they are a barrel of laughs at the moment

My oh is now horizontal and feeling sick! It's like waiting for the black spot to hit!

I've decided that a dash of Baileys in every mug of coffee lightens the mood somewhat and I'm past caring! I'm a coffeeholic.

The children are winding down and apart from wanting to track Santa may even go to bed earlier as they're starting to flag, they keep saying that it must be past 7pm.

Just my luck, I am off work and due to go on two christmas parties and can't. I don't mind being rough when I am at work, but not so keen when I am off work!

It's not fair getting ill at this time of year is it? I vote that we celebrate on different days, when we're all well.

I don,t have any colds and haven't had one for years but i do have acid reflux ( build up of acid in the stomach ) and it hurts like hell. no drinking for me this Christmas :hmph:

Do you get Gaviscon in Canada? I had the same problem in both pregnancies and gallons of Gaviscon got me through.
