Coo, that's cheap -although it is an impact drill as opposed to the type of drill we use for masonry (SDS hammer)

Thats true, my old hammer drills are never used any more. SDS is ten times better.......also don't be fooled into thinking green Bosch is proper Bosch. I have some awful green kit!

It's still a cheap rotary drill though if you use one. The hammer action is a bonus. I still use mine occasionally if I know what I'm drilling into.
Heard bad things about green Bosch way back. Bought one in a hurry to replace a B & D that had done great service (over 12 months house bashing full time) and it packed in within a few months. Duly replaced for an identical drill under warranty and that one is still going strong despite doing a lot more work than any DIY quality tool would normally do.

Re: B&Q Bosch 650 hammer drill down to £30 Easter reduction
Years back I had a Bosch 750 watt green impact hammer action drill for DIY stuff. It was big, but good. When I bought my first blue SDS it got the heave-ho, but it was retained as my "mixing drill" for many years. I figured that if anything was going to break it mixing jointing compound would, but I was mistaken

Re: B&Q Bosch 650 hammer drill down to £30 Easter reduction
I still have my Bosch green 650W hammer drill.
Bought for £37 in Homebase in 2000.
It is my first power tool. Bought shortly after buying my first house.
It was my only drill for about 7 years. I now have an SDS and some cordless drills so haven't touched it in a few years.
I think the chuck had worn a bit as it was failing to grip some bits properly.
Still have it though :)

I am not a pro.
