DCS 331N V DW331k

Post by Sumotrap »

Im looking for a bit of advice re DeWalt Jigsaws.

Does anyone here use a Cordless DeWalt Jigsaw?

I am in the market for a new Jigsaw. I already have a couple of tools, batteries and charger from the DeWalt 18V Li ion platform . .so I could buy the naked DeWalt Jigsaw for a reasonable price.

But how do cordless Jigsaws compare? Are they good tools or should I stick to corded. I wont be using it for hours on end to cut 50/ 60/70mm + thick timber ...but I do want a tool with the power to do its job . . . . .and I don't want a tool that will burn through my batteries either.

If Cordless are good enough and I opt for Cordless it will be the DeWalt.

If I dont go cordless and stick to plug in tools I may go Bosch but I am wondering how folks find the DeWalt corded 331K Jigsaw?

Thanks.

I have a cordless jigsaw and think it's probably been the best tool I have bought for some time, not DeWalt, it's a blue Bosch but I imagine the DW would be up to the task, not found anything to defeat it yet, it goes through 4x2 and 40mm worktops without any effort at all.

I have the DC330 which uses the Dewalt older style batteries, and use the DE9180 2AH Li-Ions.
Its an excellent tool, and although im only DIY,i have all my tools in cordless, and love the versatility.
Battery life is excellent even on just one 2ah battery.

I have this one DEWALT DC970K-2 18-Volt Compact Drill. It is excellent tools in a very responsible price. Good to use and balancing too.
