System restore
Remind me:
I updated my email programme yesterday - Thunderbird - and now one of my add-ons - CompactHeader 2.0.9 - is not working, it's enabled and should be working but it's not.
If I use system restore will it go back to the previously installed version of Thunderbird - and will the pics I downloaded from my camera yesterday also be removed and need downloading again? (They're still on the camera).
It's so long since I used system restore I just can't remember how much it does.

If your pictures are kept in the user folder (pictures/documents/etc) then they will not be removed. If they are saved in some software package, then it's possible they will be removed.
From MS (if this is XP still?)
BGSelecting this restore point removes installed files and registry settings, and restores programs and system files that were altered by the installation. Any files with data file name extensions (such as .doc, .htm, .xls, etc.) and all files in the My Documents folder are not restored.

Re: System restore
I'd say that's an issue with yours though Scruff, instead of a 'feature' of XP. I've seen the same problems on all operating systems!thescruff wrote:But at least he can turn it off without cutting the power off.

Re: System restore
I would say a win 10 issue BG, at least I get a win has detected a problem and will sort it and restart now

Re: System restore
Fixed it now without *System restore* - Compact Header add-on was one version behind and only worked up to my old version of Thunderbird, downloaded the update for that and it's all good again now.
