Forge Steel screwdrivers @ Screwfix
I bought more screwdrivers in SF today & always think they're great quality for the money;
http://m.screwfix.com/p/forge-steel-scr ... eces/4249c
Been using these screwdrivers for a couple of years now & while they're not a patch on Wera etc. They certainly are quality!! Granted with screw guns doing most driving these days they don't get a lot of use. So if anyone is thinking of investing in a set, they are worth considering.....

Hi,
Thanks Dickie for the information.
I just clicked on the link you kindly supplied and the message below popped up; it's becoming increasing difficult these days to view what I want to view?
Kind regards, Col.

Hi,
Thanks for asking Argyll; I use Google Chrome.
Thanks Ian for updating the link; I didn't have a problem as such because Screwfix is easy to access but many times I want to view something and have to clear a message first; YouTube in particular is now good at showing me messages and I use YouTube a great deal?
Kind regards, Col.

A side note, tool station are doing a deal on a set of wera screwdrivers at the moment, not quite as many as the set above but still a pretty good price. Sorry not got a link as it was on display behind the counter rather than seeing it online

Re: Forge Steel screwdrivers @ Screwfix
Hi,
I've just visited our new Toolstation store in Huddersfield for the first time needing a new 6" pendant set at £2.98 so came away £34 lighter.
http://www.toolstation.com/shop/p12615?table=no
I saw the Wera screwdriver sets you mentioned CR and I bought a set; I'll see how I get on with these because I've got lots of cheaper screwdrivers which wear out extremely quickly. These days most of my screws are sunk using my cordless Makita drill/driver.
The new store is a bit too near Huddersfield Town centre for my liking; had the store been in town I wouldn't have visited. Limited parking outside the store but two free spaces so no complaints; the store was spotlessly clean and the staff very pleasant and obliging. I'll be a regular customer in future.
I've not fallen out with Screwfix in fact Screwfix used to be my favourite store a few years ago until the prices started to rise to the point it now pays to shop around a lot more.
Job after dinner is to fit the new pendant and shade; I think I might manage this OK?
Kind regards, Col.

Re: Forge Steel screwdrivers @ Screwfix
We are lucky down here, several screwfix stores in the area, all with good parking even the town centre store. Also nearly all have a toolstation next door or just a few doors away so you can do direct price checking and get a free cuppa in toolstation while you play them off against each otherRetired wrote:Hi,

Re: Forge Steel screwdrivers @ Screwfix
I used to use wera screwdrivers after going through pozi 2 Stanley like they were made of chocolate even had a rep look at them and they just replaced them but of recent times I have been using halfords screwdrivers and have had the same screwdriver for over 2 years and use it a lot there are certain jobs where I can't use a impact or don't want to.
Halfords offer a life time warranty on there advanced tools
I'm lucky where I live screwfix, toolstation, buck and Hickman , travis Perkins halfords and home base all in 1 min of each other then b and q nad Cromwell tools (used for specialised gear ) 5 mins drive. We also have an account with a local tool company who will deliver 1 box of screw at no extra cost as we use them a lot.
