Decent Keyboard

Greetings,

Just saw this keyboard has come back on offer at £15 quid. It's branded Xenta, but is identical in every way to my logitech version I'm using, including colour and USB caps.

I might order another, in case this ever breaks. It's lovely to type on, it's quiet and the key spacing is lovely.

Best of all, you can wash it in the sink when it gets food of food. I've spilt lots of drinks on it (coffee and fizzy) and it still works like the day it was new.

I've always hankered for an original Cherry keyboard (can't recall the exact model) from years ago. I searched for one on eBay some time ago and they are £50+, some a LOT more than that.

Whilst they aren't waterproof etc they did have the best feel and movement of any keyboards I've ever come across (that'll not teach me not to surf pron ).

Hi,

Thanks once again BG for the tip; I'm now using the new keyboard and am very pleased with it so far; the keys are easier to hit than on my old Compaq keyboard and I like the way the keys stand proud. The rear support legs look a bit flimsy but if they fail I'll stick a bit of RSJ under?

On the mobile but can't see a link to the actual keyvoard??

I'm using a G710+ with cherry mx brown switches and love it to bits

The variant I prefer have individual switch mechanisms under each key - not rubber buttons or the 'membrane' type. They still make them (so I believe) like the one shown below (the G80-100) or the other pic which shows a generic type.

Most I've found (in the distant past) had the old DIN plug for IBM connection and although I once had a DIN-PS/2 adapter I haven't found a keyboard of the right type with either PS/2 or, preferably, USB connectors. It's been years, literally, since I had the chance to get to a PC fair where the obvious opportunity to grab a couple of such keyboards has always been the best. I'll add that to my (long) list of to-do's for when we go to Bristol next April for the Yes concert and London visit.
