Selling stuff

Post by BillyGoat »

Why can't there be a service where people will take your stuff and sell it via whatever means is best (ebay, gumtree, paper, etc) and just take a big cut?

I've been clearing out my office and I've found

- Laptops (old ones)
- Old desktop media center type PC's
- A 1U rack mount server
- A media center case with some display on the front and other stuff (a desktop type one)
- Loads of cables, power supplies and other stuff
- Old monitor
- All sorts of memory, CPU's, wireless dongles and stuff
- Car stereo with bluetooth
- Car sub and amp
- Xbox 360 with all sorts of stuff, including games that never got opened

How did this happen???? I'll be on one of those hoarder TV shows before you know it!

That's before you even take into account the other house! Got an integrated fridge, integrated freezer and standalone electric cooker to sell. Sump pump, compressor, windows, door and who knows what else!!!

I'm so lazy.

BG

Edit: Oh my....I totally forgot I've got a garage FULL of desktop computers!!!! sh*t!!!!!! I must have 20 sat in there all waiting to be got rid off. ::b ::b ::b ::b ::b ::b

Tell me about it. The missus calls me "Dave five sheds" and guess what? They're all full of crepe!
Next Spring. . . .
On the plus side I did sort out all my old computer bits a while back, and took 'em down the recycling. Only took me about five years to get round to that!

I had 17 crates of computer stuff - been hanging around too long , I now have a 6/12 month rule if it is not used or asked for it gets binned, sold or it goes on freegle/freecycle

I have got to clear out the workshop soon - 3 JAP engines, 4-5 Zenoah engines (20-35cc) New-ish Jet wood lathe, and a ebauer scroll saw among lots of other stuff

There's always the wife's description of your 'stuff' and YOUR version - never the twain shall meet

I (briefly) had a website up called 'electronic carp' to get rid of all the stuff I was accummulating. I was too loathed to get shot of any of it so rearranged the deckchairs (sheds) to accommodate it in a fashion that was less... shall we say 'obvious'

This summer I noticd a local increase in the occasion of 'yard sales' - Saturdays/Sundays, specified times and 'everything must go'. Presumably you're not alone in grieving about the lack of middle-man-fee outlets BG.

And, just to add insult to injury - give me a price for the 360 BG ..... :thumbright:

You could do worse than list the stuff on here with actual prices (assuming you can be @rsed to post it out)

I will dig all the stuff out and give you a list, you can shoot me an offer  I'm terrible at pricing, but I'm sure we can sort something out!
