You lot ought to try a spoonful per mug, in your flasks, of "Sainsburys Taste The Difference Instant Wholebean Coffee" (£3.00 / 100g - watch for when it's on offer) or the very similar "Kenco Millicano" (medium or dark) or "Lavazza Prontissimo" (ditto). Beware the refill packs are usually dearer per 100g than the tins.

All are ace, like ground but instant, you don't need a very big spoonful so it goes a long way, it does have authentic 'bits' floating in it.

Best instant I've had since I can no longer find 'Peruvian' anywhere. I used to buy a particular supermarket brand 'Aribica' in Spain but they've stopped doing that as well - what is it with these supermarkets, find something you like and they stop selling it.

Even better, make it with Condensed Milk, Waitrose & Morrisons do this in tubes.......

Sains & Tesc don't.

Oh and I forgot the shot of "Licquor 43" on a cold day - hard to find in UK.

I have a friend who worked in cafe Nero a couple of years ago. She was always told that if a customer complained about their coffee not to argue but to immediately offer them another replacement the reason being it costs the shop next to nothing for that cup of coffee but a happy customer would be more likely to return.

I wouldn't shop in any of them. Starbucks and Cafe Nero are two of the UK's biggest tax avoiders.

Agreed , I've been to Starbucks once in my life and that was only because someone else wanted to. My friend worked for cafe Nero , some of the time at Warwick castle but the pay was poor and she wasn't impressed with the work itself , the service could have been a fully automated machine but people see the presence of a person as giving it a human quality if that makes sense.

Never been in a Starbucks, Costa, Nero. Never been in a MacDonalds, although I did go into another burger chain once, I can't remember which one. The coffee wasn't too bad. . .
Like fish and chips and the odd takeaway occasionally though. :thumbleft:
