Cavity wall replacement

Hi folks, have some good news that has worked for us rather than a wrecked caravan, we recently applied to get our foam cavity wall insulation removed and replace with rock wool, guys were here yesterday morning to remove it, even after blocking every weak point the bathroom and kitchen had the stull blown into it, theyb did hover it up but we will have to do a sprimg clean, guys said they normaly take out between 10 to 15 bags of foam from a house of our type but they only got 5! they said it might take more than a day depending how hard the foam was but it took them 3 hrs!
as it was so soft so demonstrates it was shoddily done when first installed. Then the installers turned up the same day as they had a job let them down so it was filled with rock wool and all finished but left a bit of a mess. I actualy promote this scheme amongst other energy saving schemes and was reluctant to get it done, knowing i would have to do some remdial work to help stop the stuff getting in the house most of it worked but missed a couple of weak points. I know it's early days but when i came down this morning the house was 2oc warmer than the day before. So would reccomend this to anyone thinking about it, my sister is getting it she has about 500mm of polystyrene beads in her foundation as it had leaked out over the years and her cavities are virtually empty. Check with your local authority (scotland) as they probably have a similar scheme, it's usually first come first served but it usually comes back in the next financial year! well maybe! once they sort the council tax out and central funding
I used to survey for all types of insulation and would always reccomend CWI.

Had R.W. put in for a few hundred scheme, the warmth difference was very noticeable in the 1980 detached house, much more so than after the 13,000 spent on double glazing it.
