Some of you may have seen from the Electric forum that I am in the process of fitting a couple of extra sockets to the master bedroom in my house. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg of some moderate rennovation that I will be carrying out not just in this room, but in the majority of the house.
The next job I will come up against will be fitting new skirting board and coving to the bedroom. I was after any tips you might have in regard to recommended tools, good practices, what not to do and any other handy hints you can think of. For example, I guess a mitre saw would come in handy (I will get a manual one as not too many funds available - any tips on which one).
The knowledge I gained from my discussion with the guys in the Electric forum were invaluable to me for the socket additions.
I'm new to most DIY jobs in general as my first two houses were modern types that just needed teh walls re-painting etc...
Cheers,
Tilly

The skirting is much easier than the coving for me.

I tend not to do coving and get a friend to do it as he fits it all day every day and can cove a normal room with gyproc in no time at all.
