Hi there, will soon be laying a number of 600mm x 600mm plain cement slabs and have laid slabs before with just sharp sand but thinking dry mix of the sand and cement may stop them from subsiding after being laid but no idea of what the mix should such as 5 sand to 1 cement! or greater.

6 sand 1 cement dry mixed is ok for domestic..

Full mortar beds up here in Scotland are never done due to freezing in winter. Water gets inbetweeners the slabs,freezes and lifts slabs
Carpentry,I can explain it to you but I cannot understand it for you.
