This site is now well established and in order to give something back to the people that post in the forum I will be running free to enter competitions on a regular basis.

Took until last week for Bosch to accept full liability and repair under warranty...... it did take several tweets & for me then to contact the MD of service centre.....

Poor show from bosch taking 5months to own up to their obligations. Anyway it has been returned in working order.....for how long?!? Will certainly make me think twice about purchasing from them in the future!

So it would seem that the three year Guarantee that comes with Parkside tools from Lidl is worth more than the 3 year "warranty" from Bosch.. :?

Bosch only give domestic users 12months. Professional users is 36months.
From my understanding....
Lidl give domestic users 36months. Professional users is 0 months (i.e. not for professional use).........[emoji6]

:? :? That is so arse about face it is untrue..... Domestic users are less likely to be using the tool to the point of destruction...

As an aside, has anybody ever returned a tool to Lidl under guarantee and been asked if they are using it for trade ??

Hi just wanted to add that ANY product sold within the EU has an automatic 2 year warranty.

Further to that, the UK actually states that you have up to 6 years where reasonable. By reasonable, they mean if you paid say £500 for a TV you would reasonably expect that TV to last say 5 years. Whereas you wouldn't reasonably expect a £5 kettle to last 3 or 4 years.

I had no idea about this being true. Do you think that these "rules" could "overwrite' a manufacturer given warranty of.. any product sold within the EU? Let's say my sunglasses came with a 1 year warranty issued by the manufacturer, but something goes wrong and I kick the EU 2 year rule in, will it be law wise legit?
