Hi Ultimate Handyman Forum members/Experts,
Need your help to fix my Petrol 4 stoke Lawn mover SP164 Mountfield (RS100 engine). Apologies if i am posting this in incorrect section as i could not find any other except Car issues.
I bought Mountfield mover, it was working fine until it sub merged in water due to flooding in garden :-( . After the water drained completely, I left the mover outside side under sun light for couple of days. Then went on reading how to service it in DIY way. So removed air filter, cleaned it as it had water and petrol. Cleaned spark plug and in fact got new one in now. Removed carburettor bawl, cleaned the jet pipe (kind of as i don’t know what it calls but it was inside carburettor bawl with white flap attached to it. It looks like rectangle rod with pencil point at top, all brass). Mover just starts and stops. Oil changed twice, petrol tank emptied twice. Still no luck. Uploaded video on youtube at https://youtu.be/q11i_pUVFOk
to see what happens (apologies for few words in it of my own language as my father was helping me while taking video). Just to give bit history, it never gave me an issue before except once when i started it a year after, where it was starting n stopping. After couple of tries and let it running, it worked until above issue. Any help or pointers on this will be appreciated.

Re: Petrol Mover starts and stops
Check the fuel delivery route.
Is the pickup pipe fully submerged in fuel? Does it have an inline filter (or ceramic one on the end of the pipe - could be dirty/blocked)? Any holes in the pipework (air getting in?) - if there is any clear tubing in the fuel line you can observe bubbles (or not) as the fuel flows.
What about the primer bubble? Rotted away?
Then it's up to the carb - potentially needing a rebuild kit (gaskets) as the in-built diaphragm that makes up the pump part could well have a hole in it.

Re: Petrol Mover starts and stops
Hi Kellys_eye, you are legend and star. Thank you very much. As i could not remove petrol pipe (from Carb to tank), I removed carb completely as did not have much petrol in tank. Removed bowl of carb (at bottom) as well which drained all petrol out along with water. Not sure how did water still stayed as i emptied it completely before. After it was completely drained, I used WD-40 to clean carb and surroundings. Packed all things back as it is and with first kick, it started beautifully. Thanks for your expert advice.
