Did anyone buy the Aldi Workzone Titanium 10.8v tools set?

Post by Rorschach »

At some point last year Aldi sold a 10.8v tool set, 3 pcs, a drill driver, torch and a small recip saw. If you did and wanted more tools/batteries then you may not know it but the new(ish) draper storm force range of 10.8v tools is compatible. I have now expanded my tool set with an impact driver, combi drill and a few more batteries. They are of course pricier than the Aldi version but not too bad if you look on ebay, you can get some good deals. Batteries for instance can be found for under £20 each and the impact driver is £35 as a bare unit, not bad I thought.
I found I can get everything I need powerwise from 10.8v tools, the recip is very handy and the drills are lightweight and powerful for their size, I don't need the bulk of 18v tools. If I need a bigger drill or a bigger saw then I have 240v mains tools I can fall back on if required.

Anyway just thought this info might be useful.

I'll add my thanks as well, please.

I have Aldi's Workzone Titanium,18V Hammer drill and Impact driver kit, and a spare battery would be handy.
Do Draper retail anything in that range (18V) which might be compatible?
I ask since I've not come across Draper's units in any of my local ' Merchants. And I understand that Aldi's spares/extras can be fiercely expensive.

Draper definitely do an 18v range. You need to look on their website, they had quite good pics of batteries which is how I was able to confirm compatibility with the 10.8v Range, hopefully you can do the same.
Otherwise the only option is to look through pics of batteries on ebay. Doing this I was able to find spare batteries for a Lidl drill I own, it turned out to be identical to a Triton range of tools, the T12. They were very pricey though and the drill was bulky and heavy for only a 10.8v so I am glad I waited until the Aldi set was released, it is not wuite as robust as the lidl drill but it is smaller, lighter, cheaper and just as powerful.

Thanks for sharing, the next time they are on I will get a set, they are always handy as my sons sometimes ' borrow ' my tools and it's often when I need to use them.
