Hi Gonna ask this question here because not sure what forum would deal with this, I need to purchase a table saw blade to cut 3mm thick plexi sheet does anyone know what type of blade and where to get it from ,tried B&Q but all their blades seem to be for wood or metal usage.

I did a page on cutting acrylic, but I need to improve it-

If you are cutting straight lines then scribe breaking is a really easy way to cut acrylic sheet.
You can get dedicated acrylic/plastic cutting blades, but not in all sizes.
I use a laminate cutting blade in my chopsaw and it works well on acrylic.
If you can't get one, then a metal cutting blade will be much better than a wood cutting blade due to the pitch and rake of the teeth.

we use laminate blades at work, 72tpi Im sure I have cut plexi/acrylic about 3-4mm thickness on the table saw using them, but its still cracked on occasion, possibly...due to the blade too high or pushing too quick,
also when the blade is lowered to just clearing the plexi thickness, either the blade speed or amount of blade taking the cut causes a melted burr. thats with new sharpe blades.
possibly another reason why its cracked when cut, our table saw isnt the usual stationary flatbed, ours has a 5 meter sliding bed attached so slight height difference may have caused the plexi to bounce/vibrate due to not being laid flat on a single solid surface.
just my experiences on the odd occasion when I've cut plexi for lads at work, when they wanted doors for vivariums, but you may have other findings...
