Dewalt DHS790 flex volt 305 mm in the UK
Hi all ! I recently purchased the dhs790 from our friends in the states . I brought the tool bare and then purchased 2x54v 6ah in the uk . I was wondering if , heaven forbid, at some point I need to get it fixed would I be able to send it to be repaired to a dewalt repair centre . Just worried about it being from the states that they may get funny with taking the tool in to be fixed ?
I have never had to send anything to be repaired and wondered if someone had a tool from outside the uk repaired in the uk ?

heeelllooo and welcome D4np
if you look its probably made in mexico will not have the ce marking and quite possibly the internal working may be a bit different
i have never tried to take any american dewalt for repair but as said if you look at the manual the only repair centers mentioned will be in america and probably cannada
remember your contract is with the shop that sold you it not the manufacturer
so repair will probably be goverend by american law rather than uk law
but having said that some years ago i did buy a dewalt impact from a uk shop via ebay and it was made in mexico so who knows
oooo and being pedantic
its 18v 6amp with 3 banks in parallel
or 54v 2amps with 3 banks in in series
it has 15x3.6v batteries connected in 3 banks off 5

Thank you for your replies ! I assumed that the warranty for the tool to be repaired for free would be void - paying for them to fix it isn't my worry . Obviously dewalt repair tools that are older than 3 years ( so no longer in warranty) at a cost . Big - all , I too have had a tool purchased from a major retailer ( not eBay) that was made in Mexico but can't remember which it is , I think it was my impact but it's covered in D4 glue so I can't confirm ! Also if you want to be pedantic the correct spelling is Canada not cannada [emoji106]

i suppose i am trying to be informative rather being an aarse
perhaps saying "to help understand how they work "would be more appropriate
i never do anyrthing to annoy just to be helpful
just had a look and european lables on the ratings plate have dewalt on the top lh side and the CE mark on the top rh side
where as the USA one [actually an angle grinder]off course has no CE mark but a very orange WARNING band fairly central top to bottom off the label

no they don't sell them here in uk, god knows why not. the mitre saws that they released in the flex vault range and very small capacity cuts made really for site carpenters with weight and power the only plus points

I didn't buy it with the batteries because I know that shipping batteries by plane isn't allowed or it is but there are so many restrictions etc .
