F1 - Russia

Post by kellys_eye »

Than God!

Much as I like Hamilton and McLaren it's a nice change to see a different team (Ferrari) taking the front row and, hopefully, making tomorrow a race instead of the usual procession! This could be an opportunity for Hamilton to prove to his many detractors that he isn't just an average driver in a good car.

Looking forward to tomorrows race!

Mercedes are definitely struggling for pace compared to Ferrari at the moment - it's a shame that Red Bull aren't a little bit more competitive this season.

..........not sure what McLaren has to do with it just now, ask Alonso how crap they are.

at the last race:-
Alonso: "I've never driven anything with so little power"
(summat like that anyway)
One day it will all be firewood.

 Alonso does well to keep schtum about his car - I suppose the Japs wouldn't be too pleased to hear what he really thinks! I'd like to see them get to he END of a race - getting a point or two would be a real bonus!

Watching the 'lower' teams is often the only way to see some 'excitement' these days what with the top teams just swapping results every race  Not saying it's boring - the races are getting a lot closer but with recent bodywork changes the amount of overtaking seems to have dropped off :cb Last season was much better for overtaking and there's no escaping the fact that Hamilton is good at that!

Just watched the race this morning (recorded it). Not much overtaking... not any from Hamilton...

Well done to Bottas though.

T'would seem that the Mercedes team have better straight live speed than Ferrari so will suit high speed circuits and Ferrari have the edge in the twisty bits.

Should be an interesting season.

The lack of close overtaking is something to be wary of - this isn't the first race this season where drivers had mentioned an inability to get close to the next car. I reckon there will be some changes - maybe not this season though - to bring back the overtaking possibilities.

Other than lapping back markers it was a procession - and I hate that.
