What is the best adhesive to use on sand and cement screed
My builder is laying porcelain tiles onto new screed. (75mm). We will let it dry for 3 weeks and use ditra matting also.
What would you recommend as the best adhesive to use ?
We are laying a total of 50m2. The tiles are 8mm thick, and the width and length is 20cm and 120cm respectively.
I am thinking of a 3mm grout between the tiles .

I would query whether 3 weeks is enough.. Double that I'd have thought.

Surely your tiler would be using what they recommend?
It's not for the client to choose the adhesive

And 3 weeks seems a bit soon unless it's been awfully warm in your neck of the woods.
Carpentry,I can explain it to you but I cannot understand it for you.

With all of the above.
1mm per day drying time = 75 days.
Have you got UFH in the screed and if so has it been through it's warm up procedure yet? You can start that at 3 weeks.
Tile adhesive is for the tiler to choose not the client. (Or is the builder doing the tiling and asking you what to use......)

Thanks for all your suggestions. I found someone who said I can tile in 5 days. They use a additive and it is the real deal. So none of the 1mm per day waiting times

Re: What is the best adhesive to use on sand and cement scre
Out of the 2 tilers I've used, they used either Dunlop or Norcros... not sure if they have a suitable tile adhesive for sand or cement screed, but might be worth looking at what they have available.

Re: What is the best adhesive to use on sand and cement scre
Old thread, but on the first page. The OP asked a simple question, so I thought I would respond with a simple answer for anyone searching in future.
For a sand and cement screed, any cement based adhesive is compatible and will give a perfect bond, after all they are both cement based. It's only liquid pourable screeds, calcium or other anhydride screeds which are fussy and require special attention paid towards adhesive selection.
