Bad plastering around window

Post by Catman22 »

I recently bought a house and the previous owner has done a bad job replacing the bedroom window. You can see the plastering is very uneven on the wall to the bottom left of the window. Does anyone have any advice on how to sort this? The window itself looks ok. I am on a budget after buying my first house so if possible I'd like to avoid any major work for a while! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Scrape or sand the high spots right off then fill it with a powder filler such as Toupret, rub it down and then re-paint - nothing more complicated than that should be required.

agree with above... mostly.

a few years back I had a similar issue to sort... once I'd taken off the "high spots" I found that the window fitters had bunged the plasterboard void with a sponge. :? :?

Took a bit longer than I estimated for...
