you cant do it without reducing the top edge off the door or removing part off the frame to give clearence
there may be some very fancy and probably very expensive hinges i dont know about

having said that long throw or parliament hinges are used to give face clearence on normal doors

Ahh yes, I recall now the doors I did were hinged on the long side and that is why I advised Blakey when he was doing it. If I had looked at the photos properly I would have sussed that
