Let me guess- they had `enlisted the help of friends and family and called in a few favours` to get the house redecorated?

Just watch it back mate. Pause it in the odd place and pay particular attention to the tiling and joinery.

For those who aren't having the day off to get over flu and therefore don't have time to watch it, here's some highlights.

He said "I've never done any DIY before, but I'm quite" (he never actually said what). He gave it a go though, bless him. He was on to a loser right from the start really anyway with what he paid for it.

Just watched on I player.... a real shocker. FYI the pics above are "after"...

House had subsidence as well as many other issues; guide price £ 30 K, bloke that bought it hadn't seen it inside or read the legal pack so paid summat like £ 87 K and had to cough up the sellers fees another £ 10 K...

If you are watching on bbc I player skip forward to about 53 mins to see the (almost) finished result.

It certainly is an eye opener.
It isn't my favourite example though..... this fella building a driveway is;

Sub-base preparation

Membrane and sand

Top surface

Files are mp4, but should play in a browser with luck

This just happened to be on the telly whilst I was in the process of laying some paths for someone and I had to chop it up into 3 parts to mail it to them.

I especially like the PPE when using the whacker plate;
Goggles, check.
Gloves, check.
Ear defenders, check.
Oversuit, check.
Knee pads, check.
Back brace, check.
Dust mask, check.
Boots. . . . . . . .. nah, some old trainers will do.

Depressing the level of idiocy around, or rather people believing they can make a quick buck. The finish of the other two properties was not much better mind you ... at least this guy had no money.
