what is the craic with these things? just fitted a howdens kitchen for a friend of mine. everything is fine with the units, doors etc. apart from the microwave facia is twisted. the cooker hood vibrates badly and the oven fecking rattles intermittently.

normally they are alreet but other makes are better. but this is rediculous. all i need now is the hob to blow up and the fridge to come out in sympathy with the rest and freeze the milk so the kids cant have their breakfast

i mostly fit howdens kitchens and find them to be in the main fine quality wise. the south shields branch is easy to deal with. never any issues at all.

Cheap no name appliances, howdens make a good mark up on them, More than likely made by beko

Like many of these sorts of brands the premise to customers is that Lamona is that "little bit better" but the reality is, it's just a reworking of another brand's appliance or appliances with a Lamona badge slapped on the front.

We have seen cooking, refrigeration products, integrated fridges and freezers from Beko.

Laundry from Candy.

Integrated dishwashers from the usual Chinese suspects of Haier and Midea among others.

Cooking products such as hobs, hoods, ovens and cookers are mainly from Beko and others as well as some appearing from the Glen Dimplex stable for range cookers and freestanding cooking.

In other words, it's nothing special and you will often find yourself able to save a lot of money by shopping around and buying these appliances direct without be re-branded to Lamona with a price hike added

aye i know mate. i shoulda worded it better. are they getting worse or something? fitted loads of kitchens and never had a cooker hood that sounds like a car engine. or a microwave with a twisted front panel. occasionally get a rattly oven on a variety of makes like i must admit but 3 out of 5 appliances on one kitchen...

I’ve a Lamona oven in my kitchen,it’s ok but for 90 quid what do you expect!
They are doing stainless hob,hood and oven fir 199 quid just now as well,you ain’t getting quality at that price.
Just fitted a howdens kitchen last 2 days and the customer supplied all the appliances and they were decent integrated stuff,fitted no bother.
The under oven pull out drawers are a pure faff,first one I’ve ever done and it was a right ball ache getting the runners on under the unit.

looked at the oven today. grill pan was twisted. so the inlay thing was rocking side to side. its better now coz i straightened it.

i put a screw right in the middle of the extractor fan into the wall. it pulled it in a bit better but it just changed when it vibrates really bad from speed one to speed 2 also if i take off the charcoal filters it stops vibrating. then if i cover the intakes of the motor with my hands the vibrating goes nuts.

can still feel it without the filters on if i toucht he motor too. Fuc$ing sh*t

microwave facia the engineer is going to return to change next week and decide what he will do about the cooker hood at the same time.

last time im fitting lamona again. rediculous.

got a call today. they were writing off the original microwave (could i dispose of it please) and giving me a replacement. basically they were to refund the originally sold microwave and re sell me the new one.

picked it up. drove to the clients home. took out the old microwave and fitted the new one. b*stard thing was even worse

I fitted a Howdens kitchen to my house and bought a Lamona mixer tap. I have no idea what we paid, but seem to remember that it wasn't far short of £80-90
After a couple of years the rubber grips stretched so much they fell off and the tap started dripping - replacement valves are just under £20 each from a spares shop and I can't find the rubbers.
A cheap but similar looking tap is £43 on Amazon - guess what I'm going to get..!
