He'll be ok,if he likes queing. Before he goes id just ring the store with the item number just to make sure its in stock,save him standing in line for 30 mins just to let some clueless scally chav tell him its not in stock.

Argos on Christmas Eve aint as bad as Screwfix. It depends on what time you go really,ive been a few times and not had to queue up but you still have to deal with the knobs behind the counter though,which can take a while.

Wickes seems to be manned by women with no experts around.

Not at all! My oh applied for a part-time job there when work was slow. Apparently he'd be no good with meeting lots of different people according to their psychometric analysis thing. He's a teacher that meets hundreds of different people every day and has to magic work out of nowhere at the drop of a hat. He asked a B&Q bod the other day where to find coping saw blades, he was shown the powered fret saw blades!
