Does red wine count as a vegetable/fruit?
I screwed up by forgetting that the supermarkets were closed today. I usually shop on a Sunday morning (Saturday one week and Sunday the next).
I couldn't be arsed to think about what to get out of the freezer for dinner tonight (I'd planned to buy something this morning).
I settled for cheese on toast, cos I like it. I'm pretty sure that red wine must count as one of my five a day, so that's alright then.

Re: Balanced diet
I’ve had plenty red wine this weekend so yeah,I’m counting them as part of my 5 a day
You’ve also made me now want cheese on toast!
I still find it strange the shops close at Easter in England. I do my weekly shop at Tesco every Sunday morning and it was no different today.

Re: Balanced diet
Wine is not considered one of your 5
You may have it on your diet unless you are on a low carb diet.

1 bottle of wine = 1 portion of fruit as does 1 Litre of cider. i know this is true because I read it on the internet*
@ ayjay I normally post a warning just before Easter about all the sheds and supermarkets being closed Easter sunday.
I didn't bother this year because I thought all our regular members were sensible enough to know

I've had a hectic few days one way and another, combined with not feeling 100%, I claim acute mitigating circumstances.wine~o wrote: @ ayjay I normally post a warning just before Easter about all the sheds and supermarkets being closed Easter sunday.
