Im not saying it should be banned panny, just abide by the law of the land where you lay your hat - people are entitled to their opinions on religion, just because I think its cack thats my opinion, however steal, kill or maim then you feel the long arm of the law like I would expect in their country if I was naughty

Don't you just love the way these bod's move the goal post's when they think nobody is looking?
' We don't want this, we are not saying that, we think that ', typical religious bigotory.
Now the decent Muslem people that call England home, will be persicuted along with the idiots, and all because a 'do gooder' stired the bloody pot.
Why can't they just leave things alone, and take care of what they have been charged with doing.

I wish I was born rich..............instead of just good looking!!!

I don't impose my views on religion on anyone else, I think everyone has the right to decide how they feel about it. I don't think that the government should have anything to do with religion though, they should be two separate organisations.
In Turkey, Ataturk's policies of keeping religion separate from government were on the right track IMO.

Failure means you just didn't get it right yet!

Lets all put this into context......the media (surprisingly) have a great headline story which offends most people but if you dig deep into what was said and at what audiance it was said to and you may think slightly differently.
I'm not a religious person before anyone starts. Rowan Williams is a very clever person and all it seems he is doing is stirring up a (valide) discussion on how two religious beliefs and laws can co-exist. An example in resolving disputes using a third part rather than going to court or using elders to end a marriage, again, rather than going through the pomp and ceremony of a court case - and the expense.
All he is saying is lets explore this area, lets use another culture (religion) to evolve our legal system.

Tonight on TV, a group of people in the streets of Canterbury were asked for their opinions. Then another group outside the Finsbury Park mosque gave their opinions. The difference was that the first group consisted of men and women, the second was of men, and no women. Was it edited it that way, or were no muslim women asked, or allowed their own voice?
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

Half of the mosques in the UK don't allow women inside at all. So much for their "equal rights"!Stoday wrote:Women are not allowed to pray with men.
They might distract them from thoughts of God.

At last year's Graduation Day ceremony, in addition to the students gaining their degree in Management, IT, Classics, and Media, there were a number of young women clad in black, complete with headscarf, graduating in "Islamic Studies". As far as employment is concerned, it's a useless qualification, but it was all that they were allowed to do, by distance learning.

Unlike Media Studies or a degree in the study of David BeckhamMooncat wrote:At last year's Graduation Day ceremony, in addition to the students gaining their degree in Management, IT, Classics, and Media, there were a number of young women clad in black, complete with headscarf, graduating in "Islamic Studies". He's really put his foot in it by his stupid remarks, he is given the muslims more carte blanche to have this thier own way.
I will be signing the petition aginst it thats for sure.
I would rather want something I dont have, that have something I dont want
