Insignia clutch

I require a new M32 gearbox for my 2009 1.8 Insignia. Which a company will fit for £560. But I would also like my clutch done at the same time . I have gone in Tomy local Evans halshaw who had a new insignia clutch unused and sold it to me . Have got home . 1hr away it looks like it maybe the wrong type.

Will it fit my car? Can it be modded to fit? I need to keep the cost down as I can't afford much more and car is only worth £2000

Why would it not fit? You did say to the dealer what exact model you had (the number plate usually gives sufficient information).

55571779 is for the A20DTH 08-14 (Diesel)

The A16XER and A18XER (1.6 and 1.8 petrol) use the same clutch

I would also change the slave cylinder - its stupid not to (concentric type)

A full luk clutch kit inc slave is £220-260 - 622 3152 33 (double check the part number is correct for your car)


PS. If its Has a dual mass flywheel check and inspect, iirc if its duff it knackers the input shaft bearing on the box - classic failed DMF is a knocking at idle, The DMF is £3-500 to replace - if not it may have a standard flywheel and that changes the part numbers but I doubt it
